The same basic composition as yesterday, only done in oil. I started with a palette of Cerulean Blue, Terra Rosa, Yellow Ochre and Titanium White. I really found I couldn't get anywhere near what I wanted. I changed the blue to Cobalt and the yellow to Cadmium Yellow and made some adjustments. I was much happier with it after that.

I've got a notebook I write down the palette colors for each painting or I would never remember what I used. My regular palette had been Titanium White, Cad Lemon Yellow, Cad Yellow, Cad Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, and Ultramarine Blue for years. I have occasionally deviated to include a couple other colors. Around ten years ago, for a few months, I experimented with the Zorn palette. This business of using a different palette of colors has been enlightening.
