Each session is one hour. When you purchase a One to One Mentoring session I'll email you so we can set up a Zoom for the session.

Weekly two hour sessions
Monday Morning Mentoring is a weekly two hour meeting via Zoom. It is designed to walk you through my process from the reference to the finished painting, showing each step over the course of a few weeks. You will have optional homework and a chance to submit one image a week for critique.
The main subject of this will be landscapes. Sometimes animals or buildings could be involved too.
The first part of the weekly meeting will be a demo with explanation of the reasoning behind it. After that there's Q&A about demo, critique of work you've sent in and then discussion. Group size is limited to twenty people. Meetings will be Monday mornings at 10 a.m. Mountain Time. The meetings are recorded and all the recordings are available to you for the duration of your subscription.
Monday Morning Mentoring is currently limited to five members. You should land on a different page once you have started your subscription. That page is where you'll find information you'll want to read, my particular supply list (you can use what you like), and the weekly recorded lessons. If, you don't find yourself landing on that page after you've subscribed, please email me and I'll get the information to you.
Testimonials
"Over the past two decades, I’ve taken many workshops with talented artists and even spent two years studying with a classically trained painter. But after just six sessions with Ginny Butcher, something really shifted for me. Ginny has a gift for simplifying what once felt overwhelming—helping me find stronger compositions, see shapes more clearly, and mix colors more accurately.
For the last 20 years, my main focus has been portraits, though I’ve always loved being outdoors and painting with plein air artists. Through Ginny’s mentoring, she has gently increased my interest in landscape painting and helped me see beauty in even the driest desert.
These past six sessions have been so encouraging. I feel inspired and more confident in the direction of my work, and I’m truly grateful for the growth I’ve experienced during this time. Spending this time with Ginny has been a valuable investment!"
"When I came to Ginny about improving my painting skills I was new to painting. Having only been painting for 2 years, I needed direction. I wanted to progress, but I didn’t have a game plan. Before working with Ginny, I would try to paint exactly what I saw from my reference. Ginny gave me insight into how to separate myself from the reference and create my own rendition. It is a struggle, for sure. But no pain, no gain was my theme throughout the process.
I especially appreciate Ginny being straightforward and purposeful in giving her assessment of my assignments. I love the fact that she can pinpoint my errors and has a solution for my problems. I am encouraged that she experienced the same struggles I am having and I can relate to her very easily. I have gathered a lot of inspiration from Ginny and I am excited to see where this time with Ginny will take me.
If you are stuck and are looking for concise direction, Ginny is wonderful. I can see where Ginny’s insights are already affecting my painting style and creativity. I highly recommend her as a mentor".

I came to mentoring with a few years' experience as a painter but feeling that to progress, I needed more critical feedback on my work, as well as help to work larger and be more ambitious with my paintings. I thoroughly enjoyed my meetings with Ginny. She was approachable and encouraging and I appreciated her honest assessment of my work. She helped me to think about my process, and the work undertaken has given me confidence to be more creative with my reference materials. I think whether you are a beginner or someone with a little more experience Ginny will be able to help you reflect on, and move forward with, your practice.
