Every summer I make a trip around what I've begun to call "the loop". Its a winding trip up Boxelder Road, over to Windy Ridge Road, then drop down to Spring Canyon Road. If you're in the mood, you can even head over to LaBonte Canyon, and make the 51 mile (dirt road) trip to Rock River where you can get some gas, a drink and then head back on a paved highway to Circle Drive, which is once again, a dirt road and eventually end up close to the starting point.

It's purely a pleasure trip in search of interesting bovines in their summer pasture. I came across these curious guys ( or gals) on Windy Ridge Road. They must be used to being treated well, because when I stopped the car and got out, they began heading my way. They only get so close, but eventually will come up to the fence if I give them time.

It's pretty high up around there. Maybe six or seven thousand feet. The grassy pasture and mountains in the back are just gorgeous. The view goes for miles at certain places along the road.

I really wanted to capture the lively curiosity of this group and the feel of the wind drifting across the grassy hills. The warmth of the summer day was just right when mixed with the breeze. I tried to keep the paint thicker and loose in order to just suggest the day. I smile every time I see these guys.
