Spring Skies Over Alcova
Oil on Canvas 18" x 24" x 3/4" Available
Along about March cabin fever is setting in. Even if there isn't much snow, it's usually been weather that isn't very nice to be out in. My husband and I sometimes take a drive to see how the lakes are looking, or maybe the mountains if the roads are passable. This day, we headed to Alcova Lake.
The rock and sand are rich red in this area and the contrast with the green of the Cedar trees is striking. The skies are almost always turbulent or moving at this time of year. Everything is on the verge of throwing off winter and blossoming into Spring.
"March Skies Over Alcova" captures the fleeting moment of the clouds scudding across the clear blue, overlooking the deep rusty red of the rocky ground, made more vibrant by the green beginning to show. You can almost feel the coolness still lingering in the air.
