Hi Subscriber, It's been so hot, I've resorted to studio painting. I'm so glad to have a nice, cool studio to paint in! I've been working on a couple new ones. It's been a while since I painted any cows, and an even longer time since I've painted horses, which I've been considering doing.
For now it seemed like cows were the best idea. I thought you might like a look at what's on the easel. Working on more than one painting at a time is a lot of fun! Switching back and forth keeps me on my toes and there's never a dull moment. Although there's rarely a dull moment when painting anyway. |
This one got started weeks ago in my Monday morning mentoring class. We started with some idea finding, then some small color studies in gouache, then we went down a few rabbit holes, one on sagebrush, one on clouds and one on foregrounds.
This last couple of weeks we're back to the main idea. The image above is just the block in from the first day on the final painting. I love teaching these classes. It's a relaxed atmosphere as close to being in my studio with me as I can make it. |
This one has been in the works for a while. It might be done. What do you think? Is it done? Looking forward to your thoughts, |
Ginny P.S. They both need titles, so if you have any ideas, let me know. |
