Hi Subscriber,
I hope you're having a fantastic day doing something you love!
Friday was the second session of painting bronzes in Cheyenne. The weather was amazing, which made it especially nice!
This time I painted at the corner of 17th and Capitol Ave. There are four bronzes at that location, but I only painted one, Norma's Calf, before heading to The Depot to paint the second.
I planned to paint at Saint Mary's Cathedral, but when I arrived the sidewalk corner was blocked off with construction barriers.
It was noon so I sat in the car and ate my lunch, contemplating whether or not I'd be arrested if I set up to paint anyway. It didn't look like much was happening, so it seemed doable.
Just as I pulled my painting backpack out of the back of the car a workman in a truck parked by the corner where the statue was. Watching to see if it was a coincidence, I soon knew it was not.
He came walking up to the sidewalk, carrying a five gallon bucket. Then a whole parade of workmen crossed the street to the corner, all carrying buckets.
When I left it looked like they were having a conference about what to do with the sidewalk. I'll have to paint that one on my next trip!
