My little "idea finding" sketches.
For some reason I brought gouache with me. I guess it was because I really wanted to come home with a number of sketches and gouache lends itself well to that.
Bundled up from the tip of my toes, to the top of my head, I stood in only one spot and painted. It was quiet out there.
All I could hear was a thousand spots whispering, "Paint me!". Everywhere I looked was gorgeous.
With a deep sigh of contentment I set up and got busy. I painted a few hours, until I was filled up with it all.
It's amazing how snow changes everything, transforming everything into another world. It isn't called a winter wonderland for nothing.
The quietness of winter is restful in a way other seasons aren't. The countryside always seems content, come what may.
