I hope you're off to a great week as we near the end of October!
It seems like this month is flying by. It won't be long and we'll be having the studio sale!
I hope to have the sale pieces on display and a little video tour for you before the date. If all goes well, there will even be new work included.
Here's a sneak peak of one in progress. It still has some adjustments to be made, but should be finished (if not dry) by sale time.
I've wanted to paint this scene for years. I saw it on a trip through some of Wyoming's back country. It was a surprising scene to come on, like so many hidden gems around here.
We'd been driving across miles and miles of prairie. Then the road took a little turn and dipped down and away from the direction we'd been taking.
As we rounded another curve, about half way down the hill, a little rift in the prairie began to show up. A little way further down we were on a level with the rift bottom and it was ablaze with fall color!
There were golden trees that looked like they were on fire, they were so brilliant! In the midst of them an outcropping of rugged rocks stood out, as though vying for attention.
It looked as though the trees were wrapping themselves around the rocks, to keep them hidden. Such a treasure to come upon!
