Hi Subscriber,

I hope you're off to a great week!

There's good news, and bad news this week. The bad news is, dang, we did not get in to the AIS show this time. Oh well. Maybe next time.

The good news is my car is fixed and I got out to do some painting. It's still very hot here and it gets windy in the afternoons.

But it sure felt good to get out in the morning and push some paint around! I decided to take full advantage of having the car back and used all the usual gear.

I managed to slip out early in that cool, fresh air to paint. Getting out of here before anything could stop me, made for a beautiful morning.

It's only five minutes to the park and it was early enough I brought coffee along. Sometimes it gets drunk right away and sometimes I forget all about it.

This day was one of those laid back times and I savored every bit of the sun, the light, the bird song, and the coffee.

This was little "warm up" above is pretty rough! But it didn't matter too much since it was just so nice to be out there!

Both the one above, and the one below, are about 6" by 8" on paper. Maybe they'll make appearances in a larger painting sometime.

This second painting is at the pond I was painting earlier this Spring. I couldn't paint at the same spot as before because the view was nothing but cattails and sky.

As much as I love cattails, filling a canvas with them didn't seem inspiring. With a little move to the east this scene was caught from a higher up spot.

Lots of birds were singing but no geese or ducks this time. Something was swimming in the pond, but it was very small because all I could see was the little wake it made in the water.

Here's a very short video of a bit of the process.

Such a soul filling morning it was! I hope you get some of those this summer, also.

Until next time, I hope you have a great week,

Ginny

P.S. Do you see the difference in color between the two little studies? (Not counting the video, just the still images of them). I used a different palette for each. Do you like one better than the other?

Just hit reply and tell me what you think.
