Snowy Road

You gave me hope and encouragement when I wondered if I was on the right track.

You got me through some of the toughest times of the year with your own story and how life was going, you always had kind words for my efforts and story.

You gave my life meaning when you told me how my painting made a difference to you or that you loved a certain painting or asked a question about the why or how of my painting.

You inspire me to be a better person and to keep striving to make better paintings. I’m smiling as I write this and think about our times together throughout the year. Every time I paint in the new year, I’ll be inspired by all you've done for me over this past year.

You've been such an inspiration to me and I want to do something special about that. I'll be putting together a little collection dedicated to you, to share with you over a Zoom call later in January. I'm thinking of the third week of the month. I'll be sure to let you know details next week.

In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

PS The painting above is Snowy Road. I chose it because it seems inspiring as it heads up the hill with a blue sky above. There's just a little cloud, but the melting snow and sunny day seem full of promise.

There's a little mystery as to what we'll find over that hill. It reminds me of the new year just before us.
