Happy Tuesday!
I hope you're doing well. It's hard to believe we are one full week into February already and that I have seven studies done!
I worked from two references this first week. I've included them and some of the value studies to give you an idea of how it's been going. You'll find them at the bottom of the page.
I can't wait for you to see these first week's studies!
Cool Summer Day 6x6 oil on archival paper framed in a white mat
After the above studies, I switched gears to focus on some rocks. Or possible they are just cut banks, which I dug out from their surroundings to make them the star of the show?
It's been fun sharing these with you. If you have any questions about the studies or the process, be sure to let me know.
I'm thinking of working with Gouache next week. Stay tuned!
Here are some of the references I worked from.
The original photo reference for the first studies. One of the value studies I worked from. Can you tell which color study I made from this? Another value study with a different composition. Do you see which painting this produced?
My second reference is from the Deer Creek area outside of Glenrock, Wyoming.
So that's the wrap up for the first week! I hope you've been enjoying it!
I'm off to tackle week two. I'll send them out next week. Till then, take care, Ginny
PS Do you have a favorite from the week? You can see I'm not always tidy in my methods!
