Hi Subscriber,
I hope you're having a great Monday doing something you love!
First, thank you for title ideas! I think Autumn Shimmer is the winner. Also, my apologies for not giving you the painting size, or kind, of trees.
The painting size is 12" by 12". The trees are Cottonwoods or Aspens. They seemed like Cottonwoods to me.
In a couple of days I hope to be traveling to Big Horn, Wyoming for the Brinton Museum Small Works show. You may have heard about the fires in Wyoming this year.
The Brinton had been closed for over a week because of the threat of fire not too far away. The threatening fire was named the Elk Fire, and was caused by lightening almost two months ago.
A very recent snow in the Bighhorn Mountains helped to stop the advancement of the fire. Now there is another, larger snow expected tomorrow.
After an incredibly dry year, the snow is a welcome relief! There have been fires all around the state for months, many of them threatening some of our small towns.
One of my artist friends is also in the show and we've been planning this trip for months. We hope to go a few days early to do some plein air painting.
I'll be packing my warm clothes. Temps are supposed to be in the 40s for highs, which is going to feel frigid after the warm fall we've been having!
If you're in the area it would be awesome to see you! It will be held at the Brinton Museum in Big Horn from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 1.
