Here's the first version of Prairie Lullaby. The sky was just too bright for the quiet I was after.
I seem to be craving the idea of rest or restful living. Maybe it's because of all the work on the kitchen, but maybe not.
I think it's because of all the striving I see in my own life and the lives of those around me. Striving to make things better, which often means the way I want things to be.
Striving and worrying instead of resting in the goodness and mercy of God; in His provision and care. Do you ever feel that way?
A restful, peaceful heart, a sigh of relief and contentment are what I'm hoping to show in this painting. I'm hoping for that feeling in more than this one.
In the coming weeks I hope to expound on this a bit more.
Below is the new version. It still needs some finishing work, but it's much quieter and simpler. Does it feel more restful and quiet to you?
